Fair Bee Bubble Tea is another hidden gem.  It’s tucked in one of the smaller branches of Landsdowne Center.  Their bbts all taste pretty good and I’ve tried many of them already.  You can get bbt in two sizes: big and REALLY REALLY big.  I usually order the normal cup size and not the tub because I can’t finish it.  You can upgrade from big to REALLY REALLY big with just a dollar (I think…can’t remember). The store also sells bbt straws, pearls you can cook at home, and powder for some of the drink flavours.  It’s perfect for a DIY BBT night with my panda friends~

On this visit, I ordered the green milk tea with pearls.  I usually don’t order pearls but I was hungry and wanted something to chew on while we shopped.  The mix was great!  It was a perfect balance of tea, milk powder and syrup.  I loved it.  However, be warned that a bbt has lots and lots of sugar syrup in it and is pretty high in calories.  So make sure you don’t drink too many.  This rolly polly panda is getting a bit more rollier than usual during the holidays.  :)  Hehe.  Now I can roll to restaurants in Vancouver way faster!

Yum!  Rockia and I were running around Richmond this morning.  After a giant breakfast at Angel Cafe on Fraser Street, we weren’t hungry until 5pm.  Dinner wasn’t until a couple of hours so we stopped by Bubble Queen in Richmond.  The store front is facing Cambie Street and it’s a smaller store.  Make sure to look for it when you pass by or you will probably miss it.  We only stopped by for some drinks to take home.  But the experience was very pleasant because they had very good service.  I was aching for some chocolate so I ordered the ferrero rocher slush.  IT WAS SOOO RICH AND CREAMY!  It definitely satisfied my chocolate craving.  There were little bits of ferrero rocher blended into the drink.  I didn’t need to add anything to my drink because it was already full of bits of chocolate, wafer, and hazelnut cream.

I was so glad to have gotten this drink before my dinner because it was super filling.  I didn’t need to eat as much after drinking this.  As for Rockia, he had the Mango Slush with Mochi Balls!  Yes!  You heard it right!  Mochi balls!  This is the first place I’ve been to that offers mochi balls inside my bbt drink.  I’ve had it in chinese desserts but this was a nice surprise.  I have always loved mochi balls.  Some people might not like it or have had it.  It’s basically a japanese rice cake.  These were shaped like tiny balls.  They were a bit bigger than pearls but there were no problems sucking them up through the straw.  Definitely worth a try if you are visiting them.

Twinkle 2 in Richmond is an extension of the original Twinkle one which is only a couple of blocks away.  We went to have a late night dinner  with friends on day.  I was super hungry so I ordered this fried chicken roll and rice combo.

DSC02046This is a typical taiwanese dinner combo.  It consists of the main dish, rice with meat sauce, and two side dishes (both veggies in this case).  Most of the time I prefer to eat the side dishes the most but this time there was nothing special about the broccoli and green veggie.  The best part is the chicken roll.  It’s similar to a spring roll but the wrap is different.  Sorry that these pictures are a bit blurry.  It was really dark inside Twinkle 2 and I didn’t want to turn on the flash.  I’m sure that a lot of people are like me and am afraid to turn on the flash in restaurants in fear of annoying other customers.  Hee Hee.

Rockia wasn’t very hungry. Therefore, he ordered the club house sandwich.  This combo came with some super yummy potato wedges.  The potatoes were nicely seasoned.  As for the sandwich, it had eggs, ham, a layer of signature sauce and some veggies in it.  His “little” snack was actually pretty big!  Lucky that we had a bunch of friends there who helped us finish the wedges~  YUMMMM~

We also shared a cup of Green Milk Tea with Stars~  And this is the special thing about Twinkle 1 & 2.  You can’t really tell from the picture but the little jellies are in the shape of stars.  There are different flavours of stars and they chose which one to put in your drink based the flavour of your drink.  The drinks at Twinkle are really very good.  The food is good as well.  But I would definitely go back just to try the drinks.  :)  Side note: BBT can make people happy!  Do you think so too?
