AYCE Japanese food~  It always feel good going to All You Can Eat lunches and dinners.  Rockia and I decided to try Ninkazu in Richmond.  The lunch menu is $9.95 for adults and $6.95 for children under 5 feet and under 12 years of age.  You can get unlimited salmon and tuna sashimi by adding $5.  We did not chose to add the unlimited sashimi because we could eat better quality sashimi else where for that price.

My favorite is the chopped scallop cone.  This is the one on the left.  Although most people tend to stay away from cones because they have more rice than rolls, I find that it has just as much ingredients (chopped scallops).  I can usually eat two of these because they are the reason I go to AYCE sushi.

Ninkazu is one of the more reliable AYCE restaurants.  I also recommend trying Richmond Sushi or Kingsway Sushi.  NInkazu is on the second floor and has a pretty good view of Aberdeen Center across the street.  It’s a large place so bigger groups are welcomed.

The menu at lunch time is pretty limited though.  So if you want more variety then you might want to try the dinner menu.  The food is ok for AYCE.  Overall, this is a pretty good place and worth a visit!

Shota MenuI went to the Shota in Richmond with my family for a celebration last week.  They wanted to have AYCE sushi and my cousin recommended going to Shota.  They have three choices of menus.  There are regular, deluxe and supreme.  There aren’t major differences between the regular and deluxe.  But I definitely could taste the difference.

Let’s start with the food.  The quality was pretty bad.  The rice in the sushi rolls (california roll, deep fried shrimp roll) were weird.  Japanese rice for making sushi should have both vinegar and japanese mayo in it.  However, the rice that I tasted was bland and tasted.  I was very surprised and disappointed.  The second disappointment came from the service.  The waitresses and waiters there kept messing up our orders and putting down plates and plates of rolls that we didn’t order.  We had a large table, but there was definitely too much rice for us to eat.  The funnies thing happened when the waitress gave us a plate of tempura shrimp.  She later returned and starred at our table.  When we asked what was wrong.  She told us that the plate of shrimp tempura was not for our table and that shrimp tempura was not on the regular menu.  HAHA.  You should have seen my mom’s face as she was about to put the tempura into her mouth.  Since the plate was already half empty, the waitress had no choice but to let us eat the rest.  But she still made it seem like it was our fault.  :(   Overall, the food is not good and the service is bad.  Even though it was AYCE I didn’t want to eat much because it tasted so disappointing.  I probably won’t return.  My aunt says that the Shota branch in Vancouver is better though.  I took a picture of the price of the meal.  Ouch.  For that much $$, I would rather go to Richmond Sushi.
