Green Lemongrass Vietnamese Cuisine is located a couple of blocks from Richmond Center.  The inside of the restaurant is very authentic Vietnamese.  We went for an early light dinner.  It was good that we got there early because more and more people came in after.  The price is reasonable and the taste is good as well.  One of our friends recommended this place to us.  It is located right across from E-Canteen but we never noticed it before.  So it was great to discover a new place to have some Vietnamese pho~  YUM.

On to the food!  We ordered a pho noodle special and a salad roll.  The soup base for the pho noodle was not oily at all.  I was super happy about this because most pho noodles are oily and full of MSG.  As for the salade roll, it came with my favorite peanut sauce.  I definitely have a weak spot for peanut sauce.  It just makes everything taste better.

The service was excellent as well.  The man that served us was fast and polite.  It’s hard to find a place with polite waiters and waitresses these days.  Rude people can definitely ruin a good meal.  :)   So glad that we had such a pleasant experience here.  I would definitely recommend this place to others as well. :@

Pho Van (雲記) vietnamese food.  Rockia loves to eat the grilled chicken rice here.  The portions are good and there is enough chicken to fill up anyone.  The sauce that the chicken is marinated in is the best part.  The rice dish comes with white radish and carrot pieces in vinegar.  iPanda had the vietanmese noodle bowl.  It was the Pho Van special and had everything in it.  I usually pick out all the fat in the beef before eating.  The good thing about this place is that there wasn’t a lot of fat in the meats.  In terms of health, the noodle soup was not very oily.  We also tried their vietnamese spring rolls and they were great.  We could definitely tell that it was fried fresh because the spring roll skin was very crunchy.  There were veggies inside the spring rolls.  Sorry I only have a picture of the grilled chicken because it is hard to take a photo with no flash.  I try not to disturb the other customers with flashes.  I will have better quality photos very soon!!

iPanda got a weird craving for French vietnamese sandwiches today. After talking about it all day, Rockia took me to Ba Le French Sandwiches!!!  I was super excited.  I heard they recently renovated and was super happy to see that the store was fairly clean.  This place is known for its yummy eats and cheap price.  And I was definitely not disappointed.  I ordered the grilled pork sandwich and Rockia had the number 5 special (assortment of deli meats) as well as an iced vietnamese coffee.  The grilled pork sandwich was juicy and hot.  Just the way I like it. However, we discovered that the juices from the grilled pork sandwich made the bun easier to bite.  As for Rockia’s sandwich, it was similar to the other ones you would get at a restaurant.  So Rockia will definitely be getting the grilled ones from now on because he does not particularly enjoy the hard French buns as much as iPanda.  As for the coffee, it was very very strong.  This is the second time that I have tried Vietnamese coffee and I don’t think I will try it again.  It’s just too strong for my taste (kind of bitter).  As for the price, the sandwiches ranged from $2.75 to $3.50 each.  The iced coffee was 3 dollars.  With two sandwiches and a drink, we still got change back from a ten dollar bill!  I would recommend that guys get two sandwiches to satisfy their hunger though.  Hmm….subs……  Craving satisfied!
