Pizza and pasta are my ultimate comfort food. If it’s cold and yucky out I want to eat cuddle up with my blanket, turn on a great movie and munch on my pizza and pasta. And my all time favorite pizza place has always been Columbus Restaurant. I’ve been going here with my family since I was 7 years old because we lived only a couple of blocks away before. The restaurant is family owned and we are always greeted by the same friendly woman when we walk into the door.

Our usual take-out food consists of a medium Columbus special pizza and the meat sauce lasagna. The lasagna also comes with a giant piece of garlic toast. What makes the Columbus special so special? I think it’s the layering of the ingredients and the combination. After the crunchy pizza crust there is a layer of tomato sauce, a layer of thinly sliced mushrooms, a couple layers of pepperoni and ham, green peppers, pineapples and finally it is all topped with a layer of cheese. My favourite layer is the mushrooms!!! The hint of sweetness in the pineapple also makes this pizza super yummy. I can always eat a couple of pieces!! @@”

On to the lasagna!!! Yummmm….meat sauce!! The pasta is cooked in a nice meat sauce. There is ample amount of cheese on top. The garlic bread is more like buttered French bread; therefore, it is very hard. That is why I love to dip the bread into the pasta. In terms of prices, it’s pricier than places like Dominoes or Pizza Hut. A medium special pizza with lasagna is around $28. I find that the quality of food is really good. Overall, it’s a great meal on a rainy day in Vancouver.
