This place is located right next to Samosa Garden and we used to visit pretty frequently with the Panda family.  However, we are sad to report that the quantity of the food seems to have dropped since our last visit.  We decided to visit on a week night and were surprised that there was a giant table of Korean students sitting next to us.  They were pretty loud and seemed to be having a great time.  I love seeing people enjoying the company of good friends and delicious food…but it’s important not to be so loud that they disturb others.  Oh well…good thing they left not long after our food arrived!

Most Korean restaurants will serve some yummy side dishes with the dinner.

DSC02085I don’t eat Korean food very often, but when I do I usually go to Jang Mo Jib.  The food there is always pretty good.  My friends and I visited the Jang Mo Jib on Robson.  It’s fairly far away from Burrard skytrain station so be prepared for quite a walk if you are taking the skytrain.  On this particular visit, we had dinner here after biking around Stanley Park.  So, we were VERY hungry.

The five of us ordered the seafood pancake (the image on the left), the stir fried beef (1st picture on the bottom), the rock bowl rice (2nd picture on bottom) and the yam fried noodles (forgot to take a picture because we were too hungry).  Each meal also comes with a set of side dishes.  We got the kimchi, radish, potato and seaweed.  My friends and I LOVE to eat the potato and we ended up getting lots of refills of it all night.  Korean side dishes are refillable at most restaurants.  I would definitely trying the potato because it is soaked in a sweet and savoury taste.  The seaweed is also very good but not everyone can get used to the sliminess of the seaweed.

This place is open until pretty late at night and lots of people like to visit after a night of roaming around downtown.  The prices are reasonable and similar to other Korean restaurants.  If you are new to Korean cuisine, I would recommend trying the Seafood Pancake.  But beware if you do not like green onions because most Korean dishes have green onions in it~
