After visiting the Beard Papa’s at Crystal Mall, we decided to see if there were any differences at the Richmond Centre location.  This store is not located at the food court.  Instead, it is right across from Old Navy.  The entire hallway was filled with the yummy smell of pastry.  WOW!  If you can’t find the store, then just follow your nose!

Here are the other desserts that they offer.  My favourite is the fondant chocolate.  As you can tell from the picture, the fondant was already sold out when we visited.  So instead, we ordered something different.

This is the winter limited edition chestnut cream puff.  It says on the poster that the chestnuts were French; however, I really couldn’t taste any difference in the French chestnut and the regular kind we buy at T&T.

And here it is…the chestnut cream puff!  We had to wait a couple more minutes for it because they had to be specially made.  The cream puff had a swirl of creamy chestnut on the top.  They also added a dark chocolate covered chestnut on the top.

When I ordered it, I expected the cream to be chestnut flavoured.  But I was wrong :(  The cream inside was the original flavour.  So basically, we paid more money to order the original cream puff only with an added drop of chestnut on the top.  We were a bit disappointed that the cream was not chestnut flavoured.  I will definitely order my fondant chocolate again next time though!

On our second visit to Mazazu Crepe, we were there to pick up a small dessert after dinner.  We had a pretty big dinner so I couldn’t eat a dessert crepe.  Instead, I opted to get a Japanese soft serve waffle cone.  The server told us that there were three flavours to chose from.  There is vanilla, green tea and mix.  Guess which flavour I went with?  Hehe.  Vanilla is too common….green tea is too bitter….but mix was just right!  Hehe.

And here it is!  My green tea and vanilla mixed waffle cone.  It was delicious.  It wasn’t too sweet!  I’ve had match green tea bbt before and I’ve always been afraid that macha green tea is too bitter.  However, this wasn’t the case at all!  I think the vanilla ice cream mixed in with the matcha green tea helped to balance it very well.  You can get the soft serve in a waffle cone or cup.  The waffle cone that we chose was good.  It was crispy and pretty fresh.  This ice cream was $3.26 in total.

It was a great way to wrap up a delicious dinner.

Beard Papa is one of my favourite places to go to for a quick dessert.  There is a branch at Metrotown, Crystal Mall, Richmond Centre, and Aberdeen.  During our visit to Crystal Mall, I picked up a pack of 7 different varieties (one of each kind).  I’m going to show all my favorites from Beard Papa.  The first one is this cheesecake stick.  It’s basically a square cheesecake which they cut into sticks.  The cheesecake is Japanese style and is not super thick or sweet.  I love that it is a small stick because it prevents me from polishing off an entire cheesecake in one sitting!

The next one is this really cute cookie dough cream puff.  The outside of the puff has bits of cookies sticking to it.  However, the inside is the same cream that they use in the original flavour.  I was hopping for a more unique filling.

I also love their traditional cream puff.  They have tons of special flavours like green tea, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, etc.  But the original is the best because the cream taste isn’t overwhelmed by the added flavours and colour.

AND here is my FAVOURITE!!!!  The chocolate fondant!!!  This is special because you have to preheat it in the microwave for 30 secs.  The inside has chocolate which will melt into chocolate lava!!!

The warm chocolate will ooze out of the chocolate cake!  This will make any chocolate lover melt into a mess of chocolate.  YUM!!!!!!  The bottom of the chocolate fondant has a layer of cake bottom.  It’s hard to describe how delicious this little circular cake is.  Oh my!!!!

A box of 7 one of each kind costs $12~  It’s not super cheap but when compared to the $5-6 desserts at Sweet Revenge or Cheesecake Etc.this isn’t too bad!
