Capstone Tea and Fondue
Posted by in $Cheap Eats | 2 Paws | Bubble Tea | Dessert | Vancouver
Capstone is famous for its all you can eat fondue for $7.95 per person. However, we just finished a giant dinner so we ended up just ordering individual items. This is a great place to meet up with friends and sit and chat.
For the bubble tea, we tried the create your own real fruit drink. Step one is to pick your favorite fruit which includes banana, blueberry, kiwi, mango, papaya, pineapple, and strawberry. Then step two is to pick your favorite bubble tea base which include milk, dairy smoothies, non-dairy slushies and juice. So I picked strawberry and the non-dairy slushy!! This is what we got for $4.75.
This was pretty good because I could taste the fresh fruit taste. The size was pretty big as well~
Our friend Fish King decided to have the green milk tea. This was good as well and up to the standard of other bubble tea places. YUM!
And here is the chocolate fondue!!!! WOW! Look at the smooth texture.
We decided to try the chocolate fondue in a pot for $19.95. This included the dark chocolate fondue, fresh fruits, snacks, and 6 assorted dipping ice cream balls.
The snacks were banana bread and pretzels~ The banana bread was only average because it didn’t really have any banana taste to it. In addition, the bread had a rough texture and wasn’t moist. I enjoyed dipping the little pretzel sticks into the chocolate fondue because the salt from the pretzels made the chocolate fondue appear less sweet~
They also had fresh bananas, pineapples, strawberries, green apples and grapes. Some of the fruits weren’t very fresh and the green apples were very sour. However, I didn’t really expect anything when I came here so I wasn’t too disappointed with the quality.
We also had 6 dipping ice cream balls!!! The flavours were vanilla, strawberry and green tea.
These were super fun because the chocolate froze around the ice cream balls as soon as it was dipped into the pot!
The delicious, crunchy chocolate shell reminded me of the chocolate dipped ice cream cones from Dairy Queen!
Overall, I think Capstone is a good place to hang out with friends and eat some desserts with friends. However, don’t expect much in terms of the quality of the dipping items. It’s a fun experience but it’s not something I would eat all the time.
