Shopping along 4th Avenue one morning, we stopped at Naam for brunch.  It was pretty late and we were starved!!!  The restaurant was buzzing with people and most people requested a seat out in the garden area (SUNNY DA!)Y!.  We were given a quieter area inside with a table in the middle of the restaurant.

Naam has pretty unique decor.  The inside is filled with antique looking chairs, tables, and lights.  It had an old time feel to it which I found to be very comfortable.

They have a coffee and tea area as well as a showcase of their bakery goods.

Naam is known for its healthy, natural and vegetarian foods.  I have always been hesitant to visit because I am a bit afraid of health foods and vegetarian meals.  I’ve always had the misconception that healthy foods taste like cardboard sometimes….BUT!!! NOT ANYMORE!!!  iPanda is learning to become healthier and include more fresh fruits and vegetables into her daily diet~  YEH~  Moving onto the food…… :)

Rockia ordered the spinach and feta omelette ($9.25).   This is an old favourite at Naam and consists of sauteed mushrooms, onions, sweet red pepper, & cheddar & mozzarella cheeses.  This was served with a couple slices of whole wheat bread and jam.  Rockia said that the omelette had lots of vegetables in it.  The eggs were well done and not too dry.  However, he didn’t really enjoy the whole wheat toast (even with jam on top) because it was way too hard for him to get used to. As well, he didn’t like the flax seeds that were embedded in it.  Haha!

As for me, I wanted something cheesy and went for the Croissant Witch ($7.95).  The croissant witch is their most popular breakfast special (it says so in their menu).

It has an open-faced organic whole-wheat croissant with cheese (or tofurella), scrabled eggs (or tofu), mixed with veggie sauce.  All this was then served with homefries (which were more like potato squares).  I couldn’t even tell that the croisasnt was whole-wheat because cheese was placed on top of the whole thing and blended with the eggs very well.  The croissant witch was piled with loads of ingredients and was soooo good!  This proves that healthy ingredients can taste good with a little bit of creativity and preparation. The only thing I could’t get used to was the veggie sausages.  They were very dry and had a funny taste to it.  I’ve had tofu dogs and veggie dogs before with the same experience.  I would rather stay away from hot dogs than eat veggie dogs.  Umm..yeh.

Overall, brunch at Naam was great.  The food took almost 45 mins for it to be served so we were beyond starved by the time we had something to eat.  Otherwise, they have pretty good vegetarian food and a comfortable environment for people to sit in.
