Kuo Hua Trading Co. Ltd: Lavender Tea + Sweet Taro and Pudding Milk Tea

Posted by iPanda in $Cheap Eats | Richmond | Snack | Taiwanese

During my weekends rolling in Richmond, I noticed a new supermarket opened up on Number 3 Road (right next to SuperStore). I didn’t know what to expect walking into this big store.  The store name indicates some sort of Taiwanese food.  When I entered, I was overwhelmed by rows and rows of Taiwanses snacks and goods.  They had drinks, chips, seaweed, tea, soup mix, crackers (and many others)!

There were tons of snacks I haven’t seen before.  But I was attracted to the drinks more~  So for my first visit, I bought a jar of Jhi Huo Oolong Lavender Tea, a box of pudding milk tea, and a box of taro milk tea!

The top of the glass jar said that the lavender tea has no additional chemicals and colouring.  I’ve heard that drinking lavender tea can help people sleep better!!!  After brewing the tea in hot water, I really enjoyed this tea!!! The lavender flavour was mild and easy enough to drink. There are some flower teas out there that are so similar to perfume that it only smells great but has no flavour at all.  But this jar was mixed with oolong tea leaves so it definitely has some great tea leave flavours.

This small glass jar was less than 5 dollars.  In addition, they are running some promotions where if you buy 30 dollars worth of merchandise then they will give you a small gift (box of crackers, I think!?).  The promotion will only last for a limited time.  So go stock up on your snacks early!

The second item I also bought were these two boxes of milk tea.  They had tons of other drink choices, but Taiwanese bubble tea is famous so I wanted to try these.  These were actually sweeter than I imagined.  Also, they were very milky.  I definitely prefer fresh made bubble teas, but these are a good alternative for people who can’t go out to get a bbt.

Overall, I was impressed by the large selection of dry goods at Kuo Hua Trading Co. Ltd.  Go pay them a visit and spend some time browsing the aisles!!  If you discover a good snack, remember to share with us at iPanda!!!
