Wally’s Burgers at Killarney Market Square

Posted by iPanda in $Cheap Eats | 4 Paws | Vancouver | Western

Wow! Wally’s Burger recently reopened at Killarney Square (Address: 2611 East 49th Avenue)!! I’m glad there are more and more great eats opening up in this little mall (in addition to Columbus Restaurant).

Welcome to Wally’s Burgers!  Can I take your order?

I haven’t tried a Wally’s burger before. (Gasp! Gulp…) I have heard wonderful things about the old Wally’s but never managed to go try it.  That’s why I was so happy when I got news from Rockia that a new Wally’s Burger had opened!  This new Wally’s is managed by different owners.  Since I haven’t tried the old one, I’m not sure if they are holding up to the people’s expectations.

The people behind the counter were very nice and friendly.  There is limited seating and all orders are packed for take out.  During this visit, we ordered the Deluxe Chuck Wagon combo.  I wanted the sweet potato fries so I substituted the regular fries by adding an extra dollar.

And here it is!!!  It was absolutely heavenly.  I’ve always been afraid of fries because they make you feel so oily and fat afterwards.  However, these sweet potato fries weren’t oily at all!

The sweet potatoes were sliced into thin strips.  After it was fried, it was super crispy and sweet.  The batter was not thick so the outer layer didn’t soak up excess oil.  These sweet potato fries came with roasted pepper dip sauce.  The sauce was good, but not super special.  It was similar to dipping into a sweet mayonnaise.  It’s definitely better than using ketchup though!

And here is the DELUXE CHUCK WAGON!!!  It was humongous and gigantic!  It was Ginormous!!!

Even Rockia couldn’t bite into the whole thing in one bite.  This burger was overfilling with sauce and ingredients.

The deluxe chuck wagon has lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and 2 patties.  I ordered cheese with it by adding an extra 75 cents.

I loved the juicy sauce the most.  Once again, this burger wasn’t oily.  The patties were big, meaty and juicy.  This is like 500% better than any fast food burger from MacDonald’s, Wendy’s, etc.  However, I know there are lots of other burger joints out there unexplored by iPanda.  So I will hold back my happy tummy until I can explore all the different burgers in Vancouver.

The combo came with a drink as well.  The whole meal costs $11.25.  I definitely enjoyed every morsel of the burger and fries.  I’m sure Wally’s will do very well in its new location.  Good job!
