Keg Steakhouse and Bar (Richmond)

Rockia’s company bought them to the KEG Steakhouse and Bar. The interior of the restaurant is mostly made of hard wood. The lighting was very dim and made it challenging to take pictures. In addition, the service was not pleasant and the cleanness of the restaurant left us doubting whether we will return.

Rockia: Here is a pictures of the miscellaneous stuff on the knife. Ewww…. This is probably the number one mistake that restaurants make. Regardless of how good the food is….if the utensils are dirty then we won’t returning. After we notified the server, it took almost 15 mins before we were given a clean knife. Oh my!

We started off with three appetizers!! We had calamari, garlic scallop and shrimp cocktail. The calamari and scallop were too oily. The taste was overwhelmed by the oil and it was hard to taste anything else. In addition, there were only 5 tiny pieces of scallops and way too much cheese. As for the shrimp cocktail, it was just average.

As for the entree, I decided to have the prime rib and lobster. This cost $37.95 per plate. It also came with a side of mashed potatoes.

The lobster tail was easy to eat because they had already picked out the meat. The buttery taste of the lobster was good, but it didn’t consist of much flavour.

Out of the whole dish, I liked the prime ribs the most because it was very tender. The meat was fresh and juicy. However, I thought that the price was a bit high because we’ve had better steak and prime ribs at Boston Steakhouse.
