Columbus Restaurant
Posted by in $$Moderately Priced | 5 Paws | Pizza and Pasta | VancouverUpdate: Dec 2-Columbus is now under NEW management.
Columbus Restaurant is located right next to Killarney Market. It’s a cozy, family run restaurant that serves excellent pizza and pasta. I’ve already written a review for their food HERE. However, we were there for another visit and wanted to highlight the other dishes that we had! Here is their take out menu!!! This could be perfect for anyone who wants to stay at home on a rainy day.
This time we ordered take out for four people. I decided to go with combination 2 which includes a large, three topping pizza, one spaghetti, one lasagna, one Italian dressing green salad, one ranch salad and four giant pieces of buttered bread. All this for $42.95~ Obviously we couldn’t finish all of it and there were left overs for next day’s lunch. Everything was still nice and hot when we got home.
The pizza toppings we chose were mushrooms, pepperoniand green peppers. I love this combination because it has two veggies and one meat. It makes a very well balanced pizza. We ordered the lasagna last time too but this time we also got to try their spaghetti! The noodles were perfectly al dente! The meat sauce on the spaghetti had a lot of meat in it and was mixed with tomato sauce and herbs.
If you like cheese, you will probably like the lasagna more. I’m a complete Garfield so I love lasagna
The two salads were fresh and crispy. I had most of the Italian dressing and that was sour and was a great start to the rest of the meal. I love sour things because it is refreshing and balances out heavier meals.
As for the big pieces of garlic bread, they were buttered and toasted perfectly. I was happy to see that it wasn’t burnt at all. I like to use the bread to scoop up the meat sauce in the spaghetti!!
