When the weather gets cold I love to eat either hot pot or congee!  You get an instant burst of warmth and it’s great!  This time my friends and I visited the Jubilant Restaurant in Richmond; it’s located underneath KK Dollar Hot Pot.  The places specializes in congee and noodle.  I ordered the fish congee and was super shocked when it arrived because…

The fish they actually put in the congee is freshly sliced!  Most places will put in the frozen fish filets into these kind of congees; however, this place used these fresh slices of fish.  The picture above shows how smooth and thinly sliced it was.  Delicious!  My congee was an afternoon tea combo and it came with either a choice of drinks or a dessert.  I chose to have the dessert which is the ginger and egg pudding. My grandma used to make this for me all the time.  I could tell they put a lot of ginger into it (which I liked).  However, the pudding was a bit more jiggly than I would have liked.  Maybe this is because they added too much water?  I don’t know.  Either way.  iPanda lovessssss dessert and this was a pretty good one.  I was glad I ordered this instead of my usual milk tea~ :p

As for Rockia, he had the daily special which is a beef brisket and tendon with noodles.  Even though this was the special it came in a pretty big bowl (at least it was enough for Rockia).  The soup base was a beef broath.  It was great value in terms of price and taste~

We were really hungry that day so we also ordered the beef bao.  It is fried in a pan and comes with a vinegar sauce for you to dip in.  I didn’t really like this dish too much because it was a bit oily and hard.  I didn’t try the other snacks on their menu, but it seems like it would be safer to stick with the noodle and congee on their menu~
