Newest update May 23, 2010: Honey Dessert House has closed down.

My middle of the night dessert craving struck again!!!  I wanted to grab a quick ice cream milk tea slush, but the place where I usually go was closed!!!  So instead we headed to Honey Dessert House.  I’ve been to this place before and had an okay visit.  We decided to give it another try tonight.

The inside is pretty modern and fresh looking.  The theme of the restaurant is basically all green.  The walls are nicely decorated with flower decals.  The only problem is that the tables and chairs are a bit flimsy.  However, it’s a great place to hang out with friends.  On to the desserts!!!

I ordered the mango ice cream cake because I wanted to find more places with yummy cakes.  Sadly, this was not the place.  Their ice cream cake was basically what the name says.  It was a medium sized chunk of mango ice cream.  There was a super thin layer of orea cookie crumbs on the bottom.  The whole thing was decorated with pieces of strawberries and chocolate syrup.  I thought that it wasn’t worth the $6.  It tasted like the frozen cakes you can get from Costco and lacked any kind of “wow” factor that would make me want to have another one.  Awww….too bad.

The next dessert we had was this black rice pudding with mixed fruit.  The first thing that popped into my head after tasting it was that it wasn’t sweet enough.  :(  I could only faintly taste a hint of sweetness.  I thought it didn’t satisfy my sweet tooth.  But, it was a fairly healthy choice for those people who want to watch what they eat!
