Cattle Cafe [another visit] (牛仔餐廳 之二)

Yes!  I said I would return to Cattle Cafe to try their noodle bowls and I finally got a chance!  You can read about my first visit here.  This time we went for an early dinner so we didn’t have to wait in line.  We were super hungry so we ordered a baked pork chop rice, noodle bowl with two toppings and their super yummy chicken wings.

I was very surprised by the chicken wings (風沙雞翼) and how deliciously crispy it was.  These chicken wings are marinated in ginger and salt.  It wasn’t greasy and was also super crunchy.  Lots of people love the wings at Wo Fung Dessert at Aberdeen Center; but, I find that these ones are even better!  I’m sure not many people would order chicken wings at Cattle because they are most famous for their noodle bowls.  But it’s a hidden treasure!  Go try it!  It’s soooooo good.  :p drool~

On the other hand, the baked pork chop rice is nothing special.  It tasted good but it was the same as other places I’ve tried.  Nothing special but still good.

Here comes the noodle bowl!!  Every time I come here I see people eating this.  I was looking forward to trying it and was pleased with the choice I made.  I picked fish slices and the tofu fish paste (魚腐) for my two toppings.  For the soup I chose the fish soup and it came with pieces of pumpkin and tomato in it.  I had the thick noodles as well.  Overall, it was a healthy, light choice.  However, whenever I think about the noodles that my dad makes…it made this noodle bow from Cattle seem pretty average.  I guess this is good only if you don’t want to try making it at home yourself.  The fish soup would be the only difficult part to make.  But I am sure that cooking this at home would be way cheaper than eating this at Cattle.  Hehe.  Cattle is a bit pricier than other HK style cafes.  But it does have it’s surprises and hidden gems.  But beware!!!  The waiters and waitresses here aren’t all that nice and smiley!
