YUM!!!  I always have dessert cravings really late at night.  This time was no different.  We decided to visit Dessert Kitchen in Richmond.  It was a rainy, cold day but the ambience inside was really warm and cozy.  The waitress was really polite and nice; however, she forgot to give us any water!  We didn’t notice until we finished the two desserts.  Haha.  We wanted to try the FRIED BANANA BOAT and the CREME BRULEE~  The picture above and below is the creme brulee we had.

It doesn’t look like it because it’s covered with pieces of fruit.  We were really shocked when it came because the bowl that the creme brulee served in is edible.  It’s like a chocolate wafer bowl.  The bowl was very good because it had chocolate on it.  However, the creme brulee is very different than what we are used to having.  The creme brulee was very thick and had the consistency of cheesecake minus the cheesy-ness~  Haha.  I hope that makes sense.  It was not as creamy as other creme brulees.  We both thought it was good!!  But it is definitely not the taste we expected.  After eating this dish, I had a couple of ???? floating around my head for sure.  Maybe if I didn’t know it was creme brulee it would make more sense.  HAHAHA~

IMG_5467Now this next one is my choice.  I’ve had some super yummy fried banana with ice cream at many malaysian restaurants.  I’ve been aching to have it but haven’t had a chance to go to a malaysian restaurant.  So when I saw it in the menu, I got really excited.  An interesting note is that  you have to add $1 in order to get your banana fried.  This dish was almost 7 dollars!  It was definitely a bit pricey.  In terms of presentation, both dishes are nicely laid out and were soooo cute.  However, things were definitely over-priced.

If you can see from the pictures, I don’t think they gave us a full banana either.  I expected  a whole banana but they chopped up the banana into slices and fried it.  The results were that the banana wasn’t coated enough before it was fried and it had a very slight sour taste to it.  I was disappointed by the fried banana.  The ice cream, oreo cookies and fruits were ok.  There were two balls of vanilla ice cream.  Overall, this was a  yummy looking dish.  The taste was only ok, but the price was too high.
