E-Canteen is a Hong Kong style cafe located in Richmond. It’s a popular hang out place and great for late night eats. They have some smaller enclosed rooms to offer greater privacy for larger parties. Each room is uniquely decorated with a different theme. We ordered the ha mun fried noodle. The noodle has shrimp, ham and bean sprouts. The interesting thing about this restaurant is that if you order instant noodles or udon then the size of the dish will be fairly small. It is safest to order vermicelli. We figured that it’s because instant noodles and udon comes in small packages already whereas vermicelli noodles are packed in one big package. The combo comes with a drink as well. There is no extra charge for making it a cold drink. Rockia likes the coca cola with lemon and iPanda prefers her lovely cold milk tea. Overall, the dishes, drinks and service are all pretty average. They have some hits and misses. I think it really depends on what you order or the mood of the kitchen staff that day.

This place was formerly a karaoke lounge with private rooms (Xing Xing)…not much has changed except the lounge area has been sectioned with tables and chairs…
