Celsius Cafe(匯)

This is a newly opened HK-style cafe. We wanted to give it a try because I had heard ok things about this place. We went for lunch and we had the curry pork on rice and the four kind of balls with noodle in fish soup. They have daily specials for $5.95. You can add $2 for a bubble tea. I’ll talk about the bbt later.
Let’s start with my noodle(四寶魚湯米線). I was disappointed by the fish soup base. Fresh and good for you soup bases have been very popular lately. They can be spotted at Cattle cafe as well as other HK style cafes. However, my fish soup base was bland! It had no taste to it at all. I could smell the fish in it but I couldn’t taste anything. As well, the soup was a bit oily so even if it was a healthy soup base my mouth was oily afterwards. As for the four special balls, they used beef, fish, cuttlefish and one other I couldn’t identify. However, there were very little balls in my bowl. The balls were cut in half so I ended up getting half of each kind of ball. Inside the bowl, there were also some green, yellow and red peppers. Overall, this bowl of noodle would be great for people who are going on diet or want to eat healthy. However, I think it’s something that I could very easily make at home so I won’t try this one again.
As for Rockia, he had the curry pork chop on rice(日式咖喱豬扒飯). The side dishes were potatoes and yellow and red peppers. The first thing I noticed when the plate came was that everything was cut into tiny pieces. The potatoes were not in chunks but in little pieces. The pork chops were the same way. Rockia said that the curry sauce wasn’t strong enough. Similar to the fish soup base, you could smell it but not really taste it.
We added the bubble tea to our meal just to give it a try. I was a bit hesitant but it turned out to be the best part of the meal. We ordered the green milk tea. It came in a standard bbt cup and had just the right amount of sweetness. It was really good!
For an extra $2, it was worth it. But keep in mind that this is only a store opening special. The bbt here would normally cost around $4.25. That’s a lot considering the fact that this is a HK style cafe and not a bbt house. But we will have to see.
Overall, the service was fast and there is free wifi. There were two large tables there when we went and it was a bit loud. It has very nice modern decor. They have some alcoholic bubble teas as well. I think this is a nice place but I wouldn’t return to it any time soon. And next time I visit, I will probably have a bbt and a snack~ :@
